30.07.2023. - JAMAICA'S REGGAE GIRLS PULL OFF GREAT FOOTBALL CAPER WITH HISTORIC FIRST WIN AT WORLD CUP 2023.

HISTORIC TRIUMPH!

The Reggae Girls 1-0 triumph over CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) rivals Panama at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup on Saturday was indeed something remarkable. Something beyond traditional expectations.

The feat was the finest moment in the history of Jamaica's women's football — the nation's first-ever win at the global showpiece in their second appearance.

The wider football community no doubt sat amazed on Saturday as Jamaicans again wowed the world with sheer talent and fixity of purpose. This seems to be a habit of the nation of just under 3 million people.

05.07.2021. - JAMAICA HAS BECOME A SIGNATORY OF THE 1961. HAGUE APOSTILLE CONVENTION

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in Kingston as the Competent Authority for Jamaica, commenced issuing Apostilles on the 5th July 2021. As of that date, the Ministry began to affix an Apostille to documents as proof of authentication for use in countries that are Apostille-Contracting Parties.

By virtue of the Convention, signatories to the Convention will no longer need to legalise documents once they are Apostilled by the Competent Authority of another State Party to the Convention.

Serbia is also a member/signatory of the Apostille Convention, therefore documents issued in Serbia with the Apostille can be used in Jamaica without additional legalisation and vice versa.

It should be noted, however, that where countries and territories are not Apostille-contracting Parties, the existing process of authentication/legalisation would continue to apply.

More detailed information as well as the Application form can be found here Document 1 , Document 2 .
