Special Olympics is the world’s largest humanitarian sporting event and a global movement which focuses on the empowerment of People of Determination with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport.
This year, in Abu Dhabi, 190 countries and 7500 athelets participated in 24 sports.
Across eight sporting disciplines at venues in Dubai and the capital Abu Dhabi, the Special Olympics Jamaica (SOJ) team, over 70 athletes, accounted for 33 medals.
The number of 33 medals include 15 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze:
